The local news loves these stories, but the conclusion is not logical. Just because a (likely) alcoholic does something stupid after getting arrested for a multiple offense DUI charge does not mean that the drunk driving laws in Massachusetts are too lax.

The Massachusetts Appeals Court ruled that driver’s license suspensions based on criminal charges can only be for the allowed legal suspension duration from the date of the conviction.
